of M Art Historian To Be Visiting Scholar at University of
Cincinnati

Dr.
Fred Albertson, associate professor of art at The University
of Memphis, has been selected to receive the Margot Titus
Visiting Fellowship at the University of Cincinnati for 2004.
In
Cincinnati, Dr. Albertson will continue his ongoing research
on the funerary sculpture from the ancient Roman city of Palmyra
located on the once famed Silk Road to the East.
Dr.
Albertson teaches courses in Greek and Roman art at The University
of Memphis, and during the Fall 2002 semester, he was one
of three individuals nationwide to receive the first faculty
award by the Association for General and Liberal Studies.
The award recognizes commitment to teaching and leadership.
Dr. Albertson also is a past recipient of the Dean's Faculty
Advisor Award presented by the U of M College of Communication
and Fine Arts. In 1995, he received the University of Memphis
Distinguished Teaching Award and was one of 23 U.S. individuals
to receive the exclusive and highly prestigious Rome Prize
and to study at the American Academy in Rome.
Dr.
Albertson's stay at the University of Cincinnati is from January
1 to May 31, 2004.
