Named Interim Dean of Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law

Wanat has been named interim dean of the Cecil C. Humphreys
School of Law at the University of Memphis. He will serve
in that capacity while a nationwide search for a dean is underway.
Wanat
joined the School of Law faculty in 1974, and was awarded
a National Endowment for the Humanities fellowship in 1979.
He also served as interim dean from June 1984 through December
1985, and he was associate dean for academic affairs during
the 1980s.
Before
his present term as interim dean, Wanat taught courses in
tort law and copyright law. He has published numerous law
review articles in these areas.
He
holds a B.A. degree and a Juris Doctor degree from DePaul
University and an L.LM degree from the University of Illinois
College of Law.
