On Thursday, Feb. 3, at 2:45 p.m., the First Tennessee Foundation and the University of Memphis will announce a partnership to recruit and retain outstanding faculty and to support economic and financial literacy programs. Charles Burkett, president of First Tennessee financial services, will join U of M President Shirley Raines and Larry Papasan, chair of the University's Board of Visitors, for the announcement in the lobby of the Michael D. Rose Theatre on the U of M campus.

The partnership, which is being launched with a gift of $100,000, is expected to provide $1 million over 10 years to support efforts to recruit and retain faculty through a University professorships program and to bolster the outreach and educational programming of the University's Center for Economic Education.
