Filmmaker Rivera Will Explore Immigration and Globalization March 22

Filmmaker and digital media artist Alex Rivera will present a lecture and film screening on immigration and globalization titled "Virtual Border Crossers" at the University of Memphis on Tuesday, March 22. The program, which is free and open to the public, will begin at 4:30 p.m. in the Fogelman Executive Center , Room 123. Through his award-winning films, videos, and Web sites, Rivera challenges viewers to think about how immigration and globalization will define the future of America, and, in turn, the world. Rivera is a Sundance Fellow, a Rockefeller Fellow, and recipient of a Silver Hugo Award. His work addresses the concerns of the Latino community though humor and metaphor.
