Will Hold Second Public Meeting About Future of Hickory Hill

The
City of Memphis will hold what it terms a "Southeast
Memphis Initiative Briefing" on Thursday,June 3, at 6:30
p.m. at the Hickory Hill Community Center. The briefing is
an opportunity for Hickory Hill residents to be updated on
housing and community safety strategies that were considered
or begun following the Summit held on February 12. The meeting
is open to the public, and those interested in the future
of Southeast Memphis are encouraged to attend.
Robert
Lipscomb, director of the city's Division of Housing and Community
Development, will hostthe event. Briefings will be presented
by Phyllis Betts, director of the Center for Community Building
and Neighborhood Action, and Richard Janikowski, director
of the Center for Community Criminology, both at the University
of Memphis. Representatives from city agencies and groups
are expected to attend.
The
Hickory Hill Community Center is located at 3910 Ridgeway
Road.
