Journey
through the woods with fairy tale characters you've known
since childhood in The University of Memphis production of
"Into the Woods" Nov. 14-16 and 21-23. All performances
of the play, written by Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine,
begin at 8 p.m. in the Theatre and Dance Building.
In
this joint production of the Department of Theatre and Dance
and the Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music, fairy tale characters
run amuck when they venture into the woods. A jaunty, witty
score puts a new twist on popular tales, blending them with
the story of a baker and his wife who try to reverse a curse
on their family in order to have a child. Learn what happens
to Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, Rapunzel and the wicked
witch after "happily ever after."
Tickets
are $15 for the general public, $10 for students and senior
citizens. U of M students are admitted free with a valid I.D.
