of M Horn-Fest Will Feature "Mozart of Tuba"

enthusiasts, take note. The University of Memphis' Rudi E.
Scheidt School of Music will present October Tubafest on Monday
and Tuesday, Oct. 14 and 15. Both performances begin at 8
p.m. in Harris Concert Hall in the Music Building, 3775 Central
Avenue.
Performers
will include professional musicians from The U of M and the
Memphis area, including Dr. Charles Schulz, Joe Sellmansberger
and Matthew Simmons on tuba and Dr. John Mueller on euphonium.
Tuesday's concert will feature Hungarian tuba soloist Roland
Szentpali, known internationally as "the Mozart of tuba."
Szentpali
has performed recitals and solos with prestigious orchestras
and wind ensembles throughout Europe and North America. His
compositions have been featured at international tuba conferences
and performed on Hungarian radio and television. Szentpali
will conduct a master class Oct. 14 at 4 p.m. in Harris Concert
Hall.
The
concerts and master class are free and open to the public.
