U of M Is Presenting The Mystery of Edwin DroodFor release: February 20, 2008 For press information, contact Alice Berry The University of Memphis' Department of Theatre and Dance and Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music are presenting the Tony Award-winning musical The Mystery of Edwin Drood Feb. 21-23 and Feb. 28-March 1. The production is based on Charles Dickens' last novel, which was never completed. The audience decides “whodunit," making each performance unique. All performances begin at 8 p.m. on the Main Stage Theatre in the Theatre and Communication Building, 3745 Central. General admission is $15, but $10 for senior citizens and U of M faculty and staff with valid I.D. Admission is free for U of M students with valid I.D. For ticket information, call 678-2576. On March 1 at 5:30 p.m. the Department of Theatre and Dance and the Marcus W. Orr Center for the Humanities will host a discussion and reception in the lobby of the Communication and Fine Arts Building at 3750 Norriswood Ave. Carey Mickalites, an assistant professor of English at the U of M, will lead a discussion of British literature in the late 1800s, including the works of Charles Dickens.
