U of M Law Students Are Honored in Annual Cox Ceremony

Seven of the African-American students who graduated from the Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law this spring participated in the Kenneth Maurice Cox Donning of the Kente ceremony, which recognized their contributions to the law school’s academic, cultural, and professional environments.

Pictured from left to right are Michael B. Joiner, Ruth Romona Jackson, Tamara Zellers Buck, Gabrielle A. Lewis, Vincent S. Givens, and Elizabeth Taylor.  Also honored, but not pictured, was Bruce Shanks.  The ceremony is named in honor of one of the law school’s first African-American graduates.
